Today I want to answer some of frequently asked questions about Auditioning for Dreyfoos School of the Arts, and how we prepare our students for successful, confident auditions.

Q: Can you get into Dreyfoos if you have no experience?

A:  Yes!!! We prepare students in the areas of theatre, musical theatre, technical theatre, communication arts, voice and visual arts. We have helped MANY students who are brand new to these art areas have successful auditions, with the right preparation and time to prepare.  We have even done so at the last minute (NOT RECOMMENDED - but we have done it!)

Q:  How Do I Know What Art Area to Audition For?

A: Our favorite way to determine this is by asking the student 3 questions:  What Am I Best At, What Do I Love the Most, and Where Do I Fit in?

When you get two or three of the same answers, you know what your first choice should be! It really is that simple. Then it is TIME TO PREPARE!
